Golf
Immersed in the 'Etna Park' nature reserve is 'Sicilia's Picciolo Etna Golf'. The 18-hole course is very picturesque and lush as it winds its way through oaks, broom and hazels, all very typical of the Mediterranean maquis.
The course was built in 1989 on the lower slopes of Mount Etna, Europe's highest active volcano and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It offers a magnificent view of the volcano and was carved into the lava rock, which makes playing golf there a unique experience. Although the course only measures 5,870 metres, it has hosted several major tournaments including 4 Ladies European Tour events and 1 European Seniors Tour event.
